Hofmeister Sworn-In as Deputy Supervisor; Will Assume Administrative Duties Upon Croci’s Tour of Duty

Islip, NY – Islip Town Supervisor Tom Croci was joined by his fellow Town Board members and Islip commissioners as he administered the oath of office and officially swore in Eric Hofmeister as Deputy Supervisor for Islip Town. Mr. Hofmeister will assume the administrative duties of the supervisor’s office while Supervisor Croci is serving our country on active military duty.

“Eric is an outstanding commissioner and knows how to deliver the best service to our residents. We have a talented team here in Islip, and I am confident that the Town will benefit from his vast experience and balanced approach to problem solving," said Supervisor Croci
Supervisor Croci, a Navy reservist, announced last week that he was recalled to active duty sometime in July, and named Hofmeister as his Deputy because of Hofmeister's extensive career in serving the residents of Islip. At various points in his career, Hofmeister has been in charge of the Community Development Agency, MacArthur Airport, the Islip Department of Environmental Conservation, and even served as Town supervisor in 2006.
“I was honored when Supervisor Croci asked me to consider this post,” Hofmeister said. "I’m proud of the Supervisor and the vision he has for Islip Town. Together, with the Town Board, we will be able to accomplish this vision and tackle many of the challenges facing our town today."
