Islip Animal Shelter will change its name to help promote pet adoptions by ceremoniously cutting a ribbon during National Adoption Weekend and teams up with petco to keep Islip pets safe.
Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center are hosting an adoption and pet microchipping event. This event will take place immediately after the ceremonial ribbon cutting. In honor of National Adoption Weekend, residents are encouraged to adopt a new pet or can bring their own pets to be chipped. Microchipping makes it much easier to find missing pets, helps to pets lives and addressed over-crowding issues at animals shelters. The charge for Islip Town residents will be $25.00. Owners are required to bring a driver’s license to prove residency. Co-sponsor petco, will be on hand to offer pet advice, training tips, and will be raffling off a petco gift card.
