Town Recognizes Small Businesses

October 27th, 2017 – Eleven small businesses were recognized at the Town of Islip Economic Development Commission 2017 Small Business Awards Luncheon recently. Angie Carpenter, Islip Town Supervisor, William Mannix, Director, Town of Islip Economic Development and members of the Islip Town Board, honored the businesses at Trio, at the Holbrook Country Club.

Honorees hail from Islip, Sayville, West Islip, Holbrook, among other communities in the Town. “A small business is the backbone of a community,” said Supervisor Carpenter. “The Town of Islip is a great place to do business, and I am proud to say that we had many nominees from which to choose,” she added.

“These business exemplify the true meaning of corporate giving,” said William Mannix, Islip IDA. “They are in many ways, interwoven into the fabric of our community. They support our local charities, our community organizations and employ our youth,” he said.

2017 Small Business Awards recipients are: Bubba’s Burrito Bar; ClearVision Optical; RB Bender Group; Higbie Collision, Inc.; Long Island Against Domestic Violence; SoBol; Sweet Frog Sayville; Razing Hair Salon; Sunset 3 Realty, Inc.; Overton Funeral Home; The Coste Agency, Inc.
